The former Newport Chemical Depot in Vermillion County is now in the hands of the Indiana Reuse Authority. The U.S. Army signed over the property Thursday in a ceremony hosted by Senator Richard Lugar. The site will be developed into the Vermillion Rise Mega Park for industrial development and other uses.

Phoenix Closures, a manufacturer of plastic packaging, announced plans today to locate a new plant here, creating up to 90 new jobs over the next several years.

Legislation was approved for  Industrial Recovery tax Credit "Dinosaur Building"  program to reduce the minimum building size for qualification from 250,000 sq. ft. new to 50,000 sq. ft.
